Too bad it's terrible. This means it may only be worth it for certain weapon types. I don't have the exact info for them but I know the bonus on crit depends on weapon type. So where would Critical Eye be useful? Possibly with the new Crit skills. Only Relics have the potential to prefer Critical Eye. So to conclude on Attack Up vs Critical Eye: In almost every situation, Attack Up will add more damage by a large margin. Some Relic weapons may end up with a case wher CE would be better but only if they have Negative Affinity and your could likely get a version with Positive Affinity. Only some of the Ukanlos weapons get close. ![]() For every percent Natural Affinity a weapon has it needs that much more/less True Raw away from 400 True Raw. So we should be noticing a pattern by now. I'll only do one example but it follows a similar trend. So what about Natural Negative Affinity? Maybe CE will be better in that case? Turns out no. So as you can see, stacking affinity is a rather bad idea as the more Natural Affinity a wepon has, the better it is to add Raw. So what if the weapon already has Affinity naturally? Getting up to >50% affinity must be great right? Well the thing is, natural affinity increases the effectiveness of any raw you add. No weapon, including relic weapons, reaches 400 True Raw. CE+3 is 20% affinity or a 5% True Raw increase.Ĥ00 True Raw is insanely high. So let's find out at what True Raw value they equal for a weapon with 0 Natural Affinity. So the highest equal point skills are Critical Eye+3 (CE+3) and Attack Up Large (AuL). If you don't know what True Raw is, please read this post by /u/Gaijinhunter. I will be using True Raw values as they will apply to all weapons. So let's look at the positive effects of Expert at each level as well as Attack. It can really be compared to any Raw increase. People usually just remember that for every 10% affinity, your Raw is 2.5% higher.Ĭritical Eye (The points are called Expert) is often compared to Attack Up. Note that Affinity only affects Raw damage unless you have Crit Status or Crit Element. Remember that percentages are used as decimals. It's fairly easy to determine the damage increase (or decrease) affinity has.Įffective Raw = Base Raw * (1 + (Affinity * 25 / 100) Negative affinity is the chance for a feeble hit, which is a 75% hit or a 0.75 modifier for that hit. Positive affinity is the chance for a hit to be a critical hit, which is a 125% hit or a 1.25 modifier for that hit. Critical Eye affects affinity, so let's start off by explaining what affinity does.
